Advanced Practice Provider – GI Services Lifespan Providence, Rhode Island Lifespan is Rhode Islandxe2x80x99s largest health system and private employer dedicated to improving the health of all people within our communities. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our GI Services team at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. In this position you will assist with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and consultations within the gastrointestinal division. Responsibilities: xc2xb7 Assess and treat patients within an outpatient GI office setting based on priority of care needs xc2xb7 Obtain and record detailed medical histories xc2xb7 Assess patient status and develop patient care management plans through communication and collaboration with the registered nurses, attending physicians, residents and other members of the interdisciplinary team xc2xb7 Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopic procedures, imaging studies and laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning xc2xb7 Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including medication management, dietary recommendations and lifestyle modification xc2xb7 Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments Qualifications: Completion of an accredited APRN graduate or post-graduate program or Completion of an AMA certified Physician Assistant program xc2xb7 Current Rhode Island NP or PA license with prescriptive privileges xc2xb7 2+ years of Clinical APP experience xc2xb7 Prior experience in a healthcare environment, such as an acute care hospital, physicianxe2x80x99s office or ancillary healthcare enterprise; GI experience strongly preferred xc2xb7 Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills xc2xb7 Ability to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns; Must have experience caring for children 18 months and over Working at Lifespan At Lifespan, we utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to medicine and provide the right blend of autonomy and collaboration.
