Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY:Provide psychiatric assessment and medication management for the BHcare clients. Accountable and responsible for the following results: Provide Psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management Complete initial assessment and progress notes according to BHCare and PCRC policy. Work closely with all medical providers to participate in the production of improved performance standards. If assigned, supervise the operations of the medication room and review of visiting nursing orders by the contract nurse. Review and prepare treatment plans for clients. If applicable, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Serve on internal and external committees as required. Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars as requested by supervisor, or as needed for professional development, or as required for accreditation or licensing. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position. APRN and experience serving children, adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral issues and their families required. Minimum of two years of such experience highly preferred. Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) license for Connecticut required. ANCC certification as Mental Health/Psychiatric specialist highly preferred. DEA Controlled Substance License required. Connecticut DCP Controlled Substance License required.
