Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno Orvis School of Nursing invites applicants to apply for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) B-3, 12-month non-tenure track position and is a regularly ranked faculty member of the Orvis School of Nursing. In addition, this position will serve as the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track leader. The PMHNP position will report directly to the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and assume administrative leadership for the PMHNP track as part of their job duties. Major responsibilities include; prospective student inquiries and admissions, student advising, coordination with specialty temporary faculty, clinical site coordination and preceptor relationships. Required Qualifications Assistant or Associate Professor: Doctoral degree (e.g., DNP, EdD, PhD) from an accredited institution. Current national certification as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Graduated from a nationally accredited PMHNP program. Must be a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Nevada at the time of hire Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada Experience in nursing education and practice as a PMHNP Preferred Qualifications Two (2) years of experience teaching in pre- or Post-licensure registered nursing programs. Two (2) to five (5) years of experience of continuous, full-time, or equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a PMHNP. Academic nursing leadership experience. Proven track record of creative work, professional writing, or research in referred and other professional journals.
