Job Announcementxc2xa0Position Title: Nurse PractitionerDepartment: MedicalSupervised By: Chief Medical Officer of Quality CareLocation: Alpine/CampoStatus: Exempt / SalaryPosting Date: 11/18/2024Closing Date: 12/02/2024Compensation: $128,585-$168,205/year DOEPaid Benefits for Employee (Medical/ Dental / Vision)$30K xe2x80x93 Sign on Bonus$5,000 xe2x80x93 Relocation Assistance StipendGrant: NoneHours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, time may vary to meet the needs of the Clinicxc2xa0GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Delivers highest standard of medical care; maintains compliance with all regulatory and professional guidelines; observes medical staff policies, and proceduresxc2xa0SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides medical care to patients within the scope of his/her licensure and in accordance with community standards of care.Performs duties and functions under the general supervision of SIHC physicians according to the xe2x80x9cStandardized Procedures Agreementxe2x80x9d between SIHC and a Nurse Practitioner signed by both the Nurse Practitioner and the SIHC Medical Director as required by Board of Registered Nurses of California.Through SIHC NP Standardized Procedures Agreement, shall exercise the requisite standard of care, defined as the exercise of at least that degree of skill, care, and diligence as would ordinarily be rendered by Nurse Practitioners under like and similar circumstances.Observes and executes medical protocols, policies and procedures in compliance with AAHC standards.Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks in clinic under the collaborating Physician.Takes complete, accurate and detailed medical histories; performs complete physical examinations.Performs and/or assists in the following routine laboratory and screening techniques:Drawing of venous blood.Bladder catheterization as needed.Taking of cultures (throat, urethral, skin abscesses, etc.).Pelvic examinations and pap smears.Perform the following routine therapeutic procedures:a. Debridement, suturing/stapling, and care of superficial wounds.b. Removal of foreign bodies from the skin.c. Removal of sutures or staples.d. Taping and/or splinting of sprains and fractures.e. Incision and draining superficial skin infections.f. Ingrown toenail removal.g. Ear wick application.h. Joint injections and aspirations.Participates in monthly Medical and Quality Improvement meetings. Supports implementation of the organizationxe2x80x99s Quality Improvement Plan.Maintains compliance with all aspects of regulatory and funding requirements including, but not limited to OSHA, CLIA, Title 22, etc.Ability to work a flexible schedule may be required based on need.Other duties as assigned.xc2xa0QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience: Minimum of two years community based medical practice and in health care delivery and clinical systems. Must have successfully completed a Nurse Practitioner Program and have a current California Board of Registered Nursing and national Nurse Practitioner certification and active licensure as a Registered Nurse in California in good standing, furnishing number, and current DEA registration. Must be CPR & ACLS certified. (ACLS certification may be obtained within the first four (4) weeks of employment with SIHC. Must be sensitive to Native American culture and values. Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern medicine related to public health services; structure and functions of public health organizations. General knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to public health. Familiarity with managed care systems.xc2xa0Licenses/Certifications: A valid California driverxe2x80x99s license required with application submission and must be maintained throughout employment. Current certifications and/or licenses appropriate to the positions required education and profession.Character: Applicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Must be responsible and able to exercise good judgment, accept administrative supervision, pay attention to detail, follow instructions, including the ability to interact effectively and communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner. Sit or stand for long periods. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 25 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC. Reliable transportation and car insurance as required by the state. Travel and driving as needed.xc2xa0Compliance: Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture at SIHC. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all SIHC policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory, and generally have a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to onexe2x80x99s department and position. All SIHC employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations.xc2xa0Other: Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a blood/urine drug-screening test. Health must be adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicant must complete SIHC Application and Authorization Form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated.xc2xa0INDIAN PREFERENCE: In the filling of any SIHC job vacancy, preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians, pursuant to the Indian Preference Hiring Act, 25 USC 472, unless other laws require the filling of a vacancy without regard to Indian preference (e.g. Public Law (P.L.) 94-437, xe2x80x9cIndian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA). To receive Indian preference for any SIHC position, the applicant must be enrolled, or be eligible for enrollment, as an American Indian with their Tribe, or must be certified as an American Indian from the designated Tribal Representative. Applicants claiming Indian preference must attach verification of their claim to the SIHC application, including Certification of form BIA-4432, which is available from the SIHC Human Resources Department. If verification is not or cannot be verified, the applicant will not receive Indian preference for purposes of the interview.
