POSITION SUMMARY: The University of South Florida College of Nursing is seeking a full-time teaching faculty member eligible for the rank of assistant on the non-tenure track, able to teach courses; serve on college and university committees; actively participate in local, state, and national professional organizations and associations; and actively participate in community engagement. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibility is to teach in the graduate programs; may serve as a liaison between USF College of Nursing and designated clinical facilities, requiring some travel to clinical facilities; mentor nursing students, and engage in college, university, community, and professional service activities that commensurate with the rank of assistant professor. Faculty can expect to teach at any of the college’s three campuses (Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota/Manatee). Face-to-face didactic, online, clinical, and lab instruction of undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses. Program and curriculum review and clinical site and student evaluation. Scholarly activity, publications, and presentations following university criteria for appointment by rank. Serve on college and university committees where appropriate. Community and professional service activities per university criteria for appointment in accordance with rank. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: PhD or DNP in Nursing. Current AGPCNP Certification. A minimum of 2-3 years of direct patient care experience as an AGPCNP. Must hold a clear, active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida by the appointment date or must be a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and listed on the Florida Department of Health by the appointment date. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of assistant or associate demonstrating a record of achievement in teaching, scholarship, and service that should include production of creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and other professional journals. PREFERRED: Experience with technology-supported educational methods (online or blended format). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners. Experience with diverse learners. Current clinical practice experience. Teaching experience in an academic baccalaureate program. At least two years of relevant academic teaching experience in a clinical setting.
