Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries as a member of a Care Team in a Family Practice model setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis. Must be licensed in the State of Nevada. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a medical clinic and office Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding Knowledge of and ability to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries in a Family Medicine model setting Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to treat medical and surgical emergencies Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, databases, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and e-mail Skill in operating various office equipment: copy/fax machine and telephone Skill in operating various medical office equipment, such as; EKG machine, pulse oximeter, nebulizer, spirometer, audiology, etc. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, patient financial and medical information Ability to read, write legibly, calculate mathematical figures and medication doses Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members in a Care Team environment to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall CHA’s organization Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner Ability to interview and communicate either in person or with an interpreter with patients in a clinical setting including but not limited to Spanish Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc. Ability to hear and speak to converse over telephone and interview patients Ability to see to accurately calculate and administer doses of medication and perform physical exams Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis Reasonable accommodation will be made for physical limitations on an individual basis
