Job Overview:Prevention 813/727 are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with HIV treatment experience to join our team. As an APRN at Prevention, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality healthcare services to patients across various settings. Duties: The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing care to clients by assessing clients’ health status, conducting physical examinations and evaluations, providing treatment and prescribing medications, recommending a care plan and follow-up care, and making referrals to appropriate health professionals. You will provide competent and compassionate medical care and document all patient interactions in the patient’s electronic health record (EHR). By working closely with the entire Medical Staff, the APRN ensures patients experience not only timely and efficient medical treatment but also the highest quality of customer service. You will write appropriate admitting orders and ensure patients receive the necessary follow-up care, either within Prevention813 or 727, or external facilities, and demonstrate your dedication to patient welfare and the high standard of care we maintain. You will be an advocate for our Rapid Entry to Care initiatives. Collaborating with front office personnel, and the clinic staff, you will uphold our standards of quality care and service. This team approach is effective for patient treatment and also enhances overall team and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities: Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, Hepatitis C and related conditions APRN will order diagnostic tests and interpret them as needed to patients. The APRN will serve as a clinical authority in STD clinics and may deliver HIV care in the Company’s 2 regional HIV care and prevention clinics. In addition, the APRN will provide health teaching and patient education, counseling and guidance Electronically maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records at all times. Reviews and signs off on laboratory results and other patient related information in a timely fashion. Proficiency in EClinical Works is preferred. Electronically reviews and authorizes prescription refills (when appropriate) in a timely fashion. Electronically reviews and authorizes Specialist follow up referrals (when appropriate) in a timely fashion. Electronically enters Charges related to patient care in EHR. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including the office supervisor, case managers, pharmacy technicians, outreach specialists and medical assistants to coordinate patient care. Greets patients, clients, staffs, and vendors with courtesy, making eye contact, responding with a proper tone and nonverbal language. Listens attentively, reassuring an understanding of the request and providing appropriate options or resolutions Stay current with medical advancements and best practices of AAHIVM. Providing care to a very diverse population, including our targeted LGBTQIA+ population. Work will be performed under the direction of a Chief Medical Officer, unless independently licensed, who provides administrative supervision. Meets with CMO/Medical Director to staff cases, discuss procedures and quality assurance. Note: While conducting physical examinations, APRN’s in this practice are regularly exposed to body fluids. Such exposure requires the wearing of protective gloves and the following of special procedures for contact with such communicable diseases as STD/HIV/AIDS. Work with Prevention’s In-house Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to manage behavioral health of patients. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: -Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner concentration from a nationally accredited program. Training and Experience: Family or Adult Medicine Practice experience is required, including gynecology. At least two years of experience in a diverse clinical work focused on the LGBTQIA+ population is highly preferred. Experience in clinical work with HIV infected persons specifically men who have sex with men (MSM) is required. HIV/AIDS medical training/certifications are preferred. Maintaining 30 hours CME in HIV every 2 years may be required. Licenses and/or certifications: Florida License, Board certification (ANCC/AANP) In addition: -Work is performed in a variety of clinical settings and involves considerable standing and bending in the assessment and treatment of clients and some lifting, carrying or moving of objects weighing up to fifty pounds or using equivalent forces.- Strong understanding of FDOH and AAHIVM medical standards and protocols.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Creole) is preferred. -Computer knowledge should include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills are required to provide adequate treatment to patients, make referrals to appropriate specialists for diagnostic purposes and prioritize patient care issues and standards of care. Demonstrated knowledge along with the ability to work within an LGBT-friendly, multicultural and diverse population is required. Sensitivity and knowledge of the LGBT community is highly recommended. -Own transportation may be required. Schedule may require replying to emergency requests on the weekend.
