ShiftSeven 12-hour shifts per 2 weeks; including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays (based on clinic schedule/needs) Job SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider Neonatal ICU functions within the NICU and throughout the KCH service line and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team.. The APP functions primarily in the inpatient ICU setting managing the care of acute and chronically ill neonates. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the day to day patient care from ICU to step down to discharge. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population as they return for follow up in the outpatient setting. The APP may also play a role in the admission process including deliveries. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. The neonatal APP functions as a member of the NICU medical management team, under the supervision of Neonatology attending physicians. The APP should demonstrate professional practice behaviors; function as a team player; actively participate in case conferences, educational lectures, staff and committee meetings; maintain continuing medical education; and keep appropriate licensure and certification current.
