Child Protection Center, Inc. TITLE: Medical ProviderPROGRAM: Child Protection Team SUPERVISOR: Medical Director/CPT Team Coordinator STATUS: Contractual; Safety Sensitive Position SUMMARY: This position involves working as a member of a multidisciplinary team organized to provide services to abused children and their families specifically completing medical services to alleged child abuse victims. This position requires skills in the areas of case management, coordination of services, interviewing, counseling, crisis intervention and utilization of community resources. This position encourages advocacy for the improvement of services. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Perform all activities to support the mission, vision and values of the Child Protection Center, Inc. Collaborate with the CPC Leadership team to meet the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan and to promote a professional and positive work atmosphere at the Child Protection Center. Per CPT Handbook, Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. xc2xb7 Contractual APRN agrees to provide the Child Protection Team medical diagnostic examinations, and reports on all requests for such, as schedule allows. As per the basic contract, all such examinations will be completed within twenty-four (24) hours of the CPT requests. Reports, taped or written, will be due at the CPT office within five (5) working days from the date of the evaluation. Requested examinations will include children suspected of being physically or sexually abused, neglected and/or children who have been sheltered by the Department of Children and Families. xc2xb7 CPT agrees to pay the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per hour for examination and medical consultation, preparation and typing of medical reports and provider service i.e., reviewing intake reports for both counties, Sarasota and DeSoto, served as well as travel time. CPT is the responsible billing party for all STI tests, cultures and lab requests made by the CPT medical provider for the purpose of diagnosis of child maltreatment. Treatment of any kind will not be the responsibility of the Child Protection Team. Contractual APRN is covered under the professional liability insurance provided by the Child Protection Center, Inc. NOTE: Payment may be less or subject to change if medical reports are not completed in a timely manner as set by the Child Protection Team Program Office and results in a State financial penalty for the Team. xc2xb7 Schedule ancillary services for child victim, i.e. X-rays, CT scans, MRIxe2x80x99s etc. xc2xb7 Attend team staffings, as necessary. xc2xb7 Provide depositions and court testimony. Court testimony, other than dependency court, should be paid by the subpoenaing party. The provider will be subject to all of the terms and conditions contained in the Child Protection Center, Inc.xe2x80x99s Contract with the Department of Health. The provider will be subject to all the terms and conditions contained in the Child Protection Center, Inc.xe2x80x99s Contract with the Department of Health. xc2xb7 Participate in after hours on call, as scheduled. xc2xb7 Successful completion of a minimum of eight hours of training per year in child abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Either party, with one (1) monthxe2x80x99s written notice, may cancel this agreement. The Child Protection Team Medical Director (or appropriate medical designee) must timely review all reports to determine whether a face-to-face medical evaluation by the Child Protection Team is needed. Cases must be reviewed by: A physician licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who holds board certification in pediatrics and is a member of a Child Protection Team; A physician licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who holds board certification in a specialty other than pediatrics, who may complete the review only when working under the direction of a physician licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who holds board certification in pediatrics and is a member of a Child Protection Team; An advanced registered nurse practitioner licensed under Section 464, F.S., who has a specialty in pediatrics or family medicine and is a member of a Child Protection Team; A physician assistant licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who may complete the review only when working under the supervision of a physician licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who holds board certification in pediatrics and is a member of a Child Protection Team; or A registered nurse licensed under Section 464, F.S., who may complete the review only when working under the direct supervision of a physician licensed under Section 458, F.S., or Section 459, F.S., who holds certification in pediatrics and is a member of a Child in advanced or specialized pediatrics or family medicine nursing practice. Experience in the evaluation and treatment of child abuse and neglect or agree to receive training deemed necessary by the department for evaluating alleged abuse and neglect. CMS approved physician extender (as defined in the CMS Provider Handbook-Licensed Non-Physician Healthcare Professionals).
