Job description Medica Talent group is seeking a Family Practice Practitioner (Locum) to join a leading healthcare provider in Pasadena, CA for a temp LOCUM assignment. Title: Locum Family Practice Schedule: M/W/F 8am -5pm , T/TH 9am-5pm Shift start time: M/W/F 8am , T/TH 9am End time: M/W/F 5pm , T/TH 5pm Assignment Length: 6-months Considerations: LOA coverage. Location: Pasadena & El Monte, CA Job type: Full time, TEMP Pay: $75/hr. – $85/hr. Qualifications 1. Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate school of nursing. 2. Completed training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as some complex medical conditions. 3. Current licensure in the State of California. 4. Certification as an Adult/Family/Pediatric/Womenxe2x80x99s Health Nurse Practitioner. 5. Previous experience with computer based systems required; Electronic Medical records experience preferred. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Associate Medical Director & Clinic Administrator, provide medical services to clients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services. Responsibilities Performs patient physicals. 2. Provides medical services to clients. 3. Provides patient counseling services. 4. Performs and documents health appraisals on clinic patients, including history, physical assessment and developmental evaluation as indicated, also orders laboratory work and/or x-rays as indicated for patient assessment, and identifies findings which require consultation and referral. 5. Initiates preventative health counseling and health promotion measures, including immunizations. 6. Manages common acute problems in accordance with standardized procedures, and collaborates with physician in management of more complex or chronic problems. 7. Assesses problems/needs when patients telephone between clinic visits, arranges for appropriate follow-up on referral, consults with physician when indicated, and re-orders patients medication according to physician orders. 8. Reviews clinic patients laboratory work and notifies clinic nurses of abnormal findings or consults directly with Physicians. 9. Acts as liaison with outside agencies, physicians and schools, refers patient to outside resources as indicated. 10. Active participation in the Quality Management Program, Utilization Review, Peer Review, 11. Performs other tasks as required for patient care and efficient functioning of the department. Skills and Abilities 1. Oral communication skills are necessary to give clear, concise instructions to patients and/or families regarding treatment, to consult with medical team, to teach and present recommendations on programs, and to interact with department staff, other departments, patients and families with good public relation skills, and to understand oral instructions. 2. Reading and writing skills in the English language are necessary to evaluate patient charts and documents, to participate in research programs and collect data, and to understand written instructions. 3. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. 4. Is personally courteous, responsive, and overtly hospitable to customers and employees in all departments. 5. Assists any and all internal or external consumers with any problems they may have, in pleasant and cooperative manner.
