SUMMARY The Advanced Practitioner (AP) has dual responsibilities for managing acute care cases and conducting physical assessments according to standards set forth by RMI or a client of RMI in the case of pre-established standards in place. The position functions independently of the Clinical Governance system of RMI for field providers, and the AP should assume the role of independent practitioner in the States (USA) that permit the practice. Availability of consultation with emergency and occupational physician team is made available to all practitioners of RMI, however, there will not be an established xe2x80x9cPractice Agreementxe2x80x9d or xe2x80x9cSupervisory Agreementxe2x80x9d in place between the Medical Directors and the AP unless necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These include, but are not limited to, the following: General: Functions as an independent medical practitioner In accordance with established State Practice regulations, this position is considered an independent medical practitioner. Operate within the State established scope of practice regulations. Maintains medical center facilities in accordance with RMI and prevailing standards. Represents RMI in a professional manner at all times. Maintains current professional certifications, as designated for assigned projects. Completes RMI and client reporting requirements as noted within each individual project and/or client. Facilitates and assists in the coordination of patient referrals. Occupational Health: Perform physical assessments in accordance with RMI and/or client specific requirements. The componentsof the physical assessment may include but are not limited to vital signs, urinalysis, urine drug screening,physical examinations, health history review. Issuing fitness for duty certifications based on RMI and client requirements as well as guidance set forth byRMIxe2x80x99s Occupational Health (OH) Medical Director. OH case management as needed to assist the client with return to work cases. Consultation with the RMI OH Medical Director for complex cases that extend beyond the APxe2x80x99s knowledge andexperience. Acute Care: Provides advice and medical treatment for primary health care, general practice, and emergency situations asdictated by prevailing protocols and scope of practice. Interviews patients about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews electronic health record for pertinent previous and current information. Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications. Establishes and documents patient treatment regimen in electronic health record and implements treatment. May participate in occasional off-site travel in company vehicle to respond to requests for service for minor ailments and work-site injuries as requested by the client. Topside Medical Services (through the GCC) for any cases that require further care, evaluation, or exceed the knowledge and experience of the practitioner. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES This position is considered an independent medical practitioner and has no management responsibilities outside of direct patient care. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Unencumbered and Unrestricted Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at the level of Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of assignment with at least 3 years of independent practice experience 3+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience in performing medical assessments (physicals) independently. Experience in handling Protected Health Information (PHI) Experience preferred in performing medical assessments (physicals) of workers in industrial environments. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications, and general computer & technology literacy REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Strong decision-making skills Excellent communication skills Safe medical practice operations (100% compliance with PPE requirements) CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: State licensed Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)- Nurse Practitioner (NP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) FMCSA Medical Examinerxe2x80x99s registration within 30 days of start date DOT certified urine specimen collector within 30 days of start date WORKING CONDITIONS All conditions, skills and abilities listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be passed as Fit to Work according to Host-Nation Employment Rules and Regulations. At times, the PMs working environment may well be in an austere location with no nearby supporting medical facility Must be in accordance with current US Government fitness to work standards and regulations. At times, living conditions may be rudimentary but will be above a minimum standard as laid down in the clientxe2x80x99s field services guidelines/requirements. Special dietary needs will be difficult to cater for and should be declared on the pre-hire physical to assess suitability.
