We are seeking a full time, Nurse Practitioner that’s available to assist with primary and geriatric care in Lynchburg and Roanoke Virginia. Essential responsibilities xc2xb7 Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients. xc2xb7 Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patientxe2x80x99s age-specific needs. xc2xb7 Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities xc2xb7 Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role. xc2xb7 Assists with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations. xc2xb7 Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. xc2xb7 Facilitates the patientxe2x80x99s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients. xc2xb7 Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. xc2xb7 Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools. Minimum qualifications xc2xb7 Graduate of an accredited school of nursing xc2xb7 Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program xc2xb7 Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure xc2xb7 Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area xc2xb7 Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) xc2xb7 Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience Minimum of 1 primary care experience. 1 experience in the Nurse Practitioner role. Geriatric experience, LTC (long-term care) a plus!!
