POSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Allergy Providers, the Nurse Practitioner shall provide direct patient care for pediatric and adult patients. The Nurse Practitioner is also expected to work collaboratively with the Director of Operations and clinic support staff. Duties include but are not limited to performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories, creating patient care plans, administering diagnostic testing, prescribing medications and interpreting lab, x-ray and allergy test results. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to adult and pediatric patients with allergy and asthma related conditions Evaluate and treat anaphylactic reactionsOrder, perform and/or interpret the results of diagnostic blood results, allergy skin testing and X-raysAnalyze and interpret patientsxe2x80x99 history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnosesDevelop treatment plans based on standards of care, and practice guidelines.Counsel patients about drug regimens, possible side effects or interactions.Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructionxe2x80x99s to patientsxe2x80x99 individual circumstancesUnderstand Electronic Health Record, utilize to its fullest capabilities, and have record complete within policy regulationsComplete annual education requirementsMaintain patient confidentiality at all times Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times Must be willing to commute to multiple satellite offices in the surrounding areaComply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practicesPerform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical recordsAbility to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with retail and medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHAExperience providing primary care as a nurse practitionerKnowledge of disease prevention.Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:Masterxe2x80x99s degree from an accredited nursing program.Must have RN licensure from the State of California and be board certified by either ANCC or AANP.Must have prescriptive authorizationAPN authorization in the state of California to practice in Family Health by the Board of Nurse Examiners. Minimum Experience required1+ year experience in primary care or allergy
