Up to $20,000 sign on bonus based on experience. Eligible for productivity bonus at year 2. We are hiring a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Vascular Surgery experience preferred but not required. Vascular Specialists of Delaware, PA is a well-established, extremely busy vascular practice located in Newark, DE with satellite offices in Smryna, DE and Milford, DE. Vascular Specialists of Delaware, PA supports candidates with over 30 years of experience providing vascular surgery services in the area. We are recruiting to support our current Vascular Surgeon in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Interested candidates can expect to average 25 patients per day. Our Practice offers an autonomous and collegial environment with an experienced administrative support team. Summary of essential job functions: First Assist in Surgery potential for a Physician Assistant Provide care in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Perform adequate and thorough H & Ps. Perform consultation for surgical patients referred to the Practice. Order and interpret lab and radiographic studies. Consult appropriate subspecialties on patient-specific matters. Determine candidacy for surgery or other therapies. Perform bed-side and in office procedures. Write orders and prescriptions necessary for patient care. Make daily rounds to observe and record patient’s medical progress, updating, and summarizing medical records, and changing orders when appropriate. Administrative duties pertinent to the Practice. Assist with the management of and continuity of inpatient and outpatient care. Minimum requirements: Education or Training. The PA candidate must meet the following: (1) Graduate of a PA training program which is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of PA (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor organizations. Additionally, candidates must meet one of the following: o Master’s degree in any discipline. o Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a PA. o Certification. Must have successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE). o Licensure. Must possess an active, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice. PAs must maintain current registration in the State of licensure OR be a graduate physician assistant pending licensure. Education or Training: The NP candidate must meet the following: o (1) Graduate of an approved school of nursing and maintenance of state licensure as a registered nurse. o Successful completion of an Advanced Practice Nurse Master’s degree (MSN). o National certification by either of the following certifying agencies: xc2xa7 The American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). o State Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse. o Adherence to all rules and regulations governing the practice of advanced nursing as adopted by the Delaware State Board of Nursing under the authority of the Delaware Nursing Practice Act, 24 Delaware Code, s1902(d), s1906, (1), s1906 (7) o Compliance with evolving criteria for recertification by the ANA Council of Nurses in Advanced Practice including documentation of active practice performance and appropriate continuing medical education. o Must have current registration with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the State of Delaware and use assigned DEA numbers for controlled substance prescriptions. o Proof of liability insurance coverage.
