Job Description: We seek a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team at our San Antonio clinic. The PMHNP will be crucial in delivering our clients comprehensive mental health care services. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, the PMHNP will conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate individualized treatment plans, provide medication management services, offer psychotherapeutic interventions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care. Responsibilities: – Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including gathering detailed information about clients’ medical history, psychiatric symptoms, psychosocial factors, and family history. – Formulate individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based practices and client preferences. – Provide medication management services, including prescribing psychotropic medications, monitoring their effectiveness, assessing for potential side effects, and adjusting dosages as necessary. – Offer psychotherapeutic interventions using evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and supportive counseling. – Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers/counselors and primary care providers to ensure coordinated care for clients. – Educate clients about their medications, address concerns or questions, and promote medication adherence. – Participate in advocacy and community outreach initiatives aimed at reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and promoting mental health awareness. – Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation under regulatory standards and organizational policies. Qualifications: – Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. – Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Texas. – Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). – Previous experience working in a psychiatric or mental health setting preferred. – Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills. – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. – Commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care and promoting mental health equity and inclusivity. – Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required Schedule: – Monday to Friday – 8-hour shift – No weekend work unless there are special events.
